Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD) is a Vietnamese Non-governmental Organization established on March 05, 2008. From 2021, MSD officially becomes United Way Vietnam – a member of United Way Worldwide – the largest global network of non-profit organizations.

The Projects in the SDGI Program include:
- Leave No One Behind Partnership (LNOB Vietnam): to ensure the voices of marginalised groups are heard and count in the process of Sustainable Development Goals implementation through Citizen-generated Data (For further information on LNOB Vietnam, access here);
- Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam: a cross-border and cross-sector collective impact initiative, designing and building an inclusive community that gives opportunities for all in Vietnam. By leveraging innovative tech solutions offered by proven cross-border startups, it helps citizens connect to available resources and new opportunities for future success. - SDGs Research: to conduct data analysis and relevant research focused on SDGs, ESG, Responsible Business, Philanthropy, etc.;
- Inclusive Participation in SDGs: to promote the participation of social organizations and marginalized communities in the implementation of Vietnam’s Sustainable Development Goals. It will be achieved through (i) Meaningful participation of social organizations and marginalized communities in contributing to the SDG process of Vietnam in 2023 – 2025 and (ii) Capacity empowerment of the government officer in promoting inclusive participation in SDGs for vulnerable people;
- Vietnam Scaling Up Energy Efficiency Project: to develop and integrate communication strategies that helps promote energy efficiency in the Vietnam’s industrial sector and contribute to achieving national target on energy efficiency and conservation, ensuring energy security and implementing tasks, actions to reduce greenhouse gas emission and respond to climate change.
ASSIGNMENT REQUESTS
- Assignment purpose: The SDGI Project Intern will support his/her direct supervisor and the team to manage and execute tasks within SDGI programs.
- Working location: Hanoi
- Assigned manager and technical supporter: Directly report to and be supported/coached by the SDGI Program Officer and Manager.
- Main responsibilities:
As an SDGI Project Intern at MSD, you will play a crucial role in supporting various projects and programs throughout their life cycles. Your main assignments for 2024 will include, but are not limited to:
4.1. Leave No One Behind Partnership (LNOB Vietnam):
- Assist the LNOB’s Secretariat in organizing Partnership meetings;
- Contribute to the implementation of Partnership activities/events, emphasizing SDGs;
- Promote Citizen-Generated Data initiatives of the LNOB Partnership.
4.2. Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam:
- Assist the SDGI Program Officer/Manager in coordinating start-ups and partner CSOs;
- Support the creation of social impacts for marginalized populations in Vietnam;
- Assist in executing various activities related to the Shinhan Square Bridge program.
4.3. Research:
- Assist in conducting data analysis and research focused on different fields of study, including but not limited to SDGs;
- Assist in documenting research findings and insights.
4.4. Event Organization:
- Assist in organizing events at MSD following the protocol, ensuring their smooth execution;
- Document event proceedings and report for future reference.
4.5. Stakeholder Liaison:
- Liaise with various stakeholders to maintain effective communication;
- Contribute to building and nurturing partnerships with external collaborators;
- Assist in ensuring a strong network and positive relationships with key stakeholders.
4.6. Documentation and Updates:
- Document project details, meetings, and outcomes effectively;
- Provide regular updates and communications for assigned projects;
- Support the creation of comprehensive project reports as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduated or final year of bachelor studies, in social science, management, communication, social works,or related fields;
- Experience with research activities and data analysis is a plus;
- High command of communication and presentation skills in both Vietnamese and English;
- Strategic thinking and analysis;
- Strong MS Office proficiency;
- Ability to work independently and professionally; good team work skills;
- High commitment to work with the ability to commit for 6 months.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
The recruitment process includes 3 rounds:
- Round 1: CV and Cover Letter Screening
- Round 2: Short Written Test for Selected Candidates from Round 1
- Round 3: In-person Interview at MSD Hanoi Office for Selected Candidates
