Handbook We have the right to have a birth certificate

Every year, the population growth rate in Ho Chi Minh City is constantly increasing, one of which comes from immigrants from other provinces/cities across the country and even some from vicinity countries. These people often face many difficulties in finding work, stable income, household registration, temporary residence, identity and nationality problems, etc. This leads to children being born in these circumstances are also greatly affected by the issuance of birth certificates – one of the important documents of an individual, thereby enjoying social security policies in accordance with the law.

Within the framework of the project “A new life page – Promoting the implementation of the right to have identity documents for street children/teenagers in Ho Chi Minh City”, MSD has cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Justice, Ho Chi Minh City State Legal Aid Center, Thanh and Associates Law Firm compiled the book “We have the right to have a birth certificate” with the hope that this will be a basis for organizations and individuals to use to support more effectively children with special circumstances in carrying out legal procedures to get a birth certificate. Thereby, helping them integrate and have the opportunity to access public services, social security policies and opportunities for personal development to have a prosperous and happy life.
