Report on results of Vietnamese Young Voices survey (Summary edition)

The survey “Vietnamese Young Voices” was conducted by the Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD) and Save the Children in Vietnam (SCI) with the participation of 1,740 Vietnamese children aged 11 to 16 in 7 provinces/cities in the North, Central, and South regions. The survey includes children’s participation in rural and urban areas; children in and out of school; children of the Kinh ethnic group and children of some ethnic minorities.

The overall objective of this survey is to collect children’s opinions and thoughts on issues related to them, thereby providing a perspective on the reality of children’s rights enforcement in Vietnam through the lens of the children themselves. The report’s findings also serve to inform children’s rights enforcement agencies and serve as evidence for a supplemental report to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child in 2020

The survey report “Vietnamese Young Voices” has 7 sections with the following contents: (1) Children’s understanding of children’s rights and the UN Convention on children’s rights; (2) Respect children’s opinions; (3) Children grow up in different circumstances; (4) Schools and education; (5) Live safely and healthily; (6) Climate change; and (7) Future.
