On April 23, 2021, in Hai Phong, the Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD), in collaboration with the Children’s Department – Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, held a workshop to share Young Voices in Vietnam Report at Thai Phien High School. The event is part of the Strengthening the capacity of CSOs in Child Right Governance funded by Save the Children and the Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation.
The event has the participation of a representative of the Department of Children – Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; representatives of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hai Phong; representatives of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City; representatives of Save the Children; The management board, teachers and students come from Thai Phien High School, Van Son Middle School, and Truong Cong Dinh Middle School.
The workshop introduced 15 outstanding findings of the Young Voice in Vietnam survey and shared the report that was used to consult and develop national programs and policies for children, with the active participation of children. At the dialogue session, the children had the opportunity to express their questions and opinions about the findings of the survey, and at the same time raise questions about Children’s Rights, the issue of labor exploitation and how to make children happy.
The seminar series will continue to be held at the final destination of the journey: Hai Phong. Their opinions will be recorded, collected and submitted to develop programs that ensure children’s participation and voice in their own affairs.
