STEMkidVN – Project “Increasing access for students in the highland areas of Vietnam in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics" is implemented by MSD with financial support from 3M Group to enhance integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education into primary and secondary schools and inspiring students in Vietnam’s highland areas to explore the excitement of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The project focuses on three main directions:

– Increase opportunities for poor children and children in difficult circumstances in rural and mountainous areas of Lao Cai to access and explore STEM-related activities at school;

– Inspire and encourage teachers and school leaders to integrate STEM-related activities into the curriculum to best develop students’ innovative thinking;

– Strengthen the engagement of stakeholders, especially government, schools and media in creating a better world through science, with a special focus on primary school students in the region Vietnamese countryside.

Leaders and teachers of 5 primary schools have been trained and encouraged to integrate STEM-related activities into the curriculum.
