PRESS RELEASE: SUCCESSFULLY RAISED VND 80,000,000 TO BUILD A CLEAN WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR TA LAO VILLAGE – QUANG TRI PROVINCE VIA MOMO E-WALLET

Hanoi, March 22, 2021 – With the support and companionship of MoMo Wallet Online Payment Application, Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD) and The Center for Research on Initiative for Community development (RIC) have successfully raised an amount of 80,000,000 VND to donate to build a clean water supply system for people in Ta Lao village, Quang Tri province.

In response to World Water Day 22.03, Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD) in collaboration with The Center for Research on Initiative for Community development (RIC) implemented the fundraising campaign “Water Ambassador – Clean water for Ta Lao village” through the MoMo E-Wallet Payment Application to renovate and build a water tank system for 89 households in Ta Lao village, Ta Long commune, Da Krong district, Quang Tri province.

The program was completed after only four days of fundraising

The campaign was launched to raise funds for the MoMo’s heart program on March 18, 2021, and within four days, it completed its goal with a total amount of VND 80,001,430 – A meaningful success on World Water Day 22.03.2021. This success is due to the interest and help of 37,927 MoMo Wallet users.

Ms. Tran Van Anh – Program Director of MSD shared: “We are delighted that the campaign has achieved its goal in a very short time – only four days. Sincere thanks to the MoMo E-Wallet App for accompanying and supporting us to implement this campaign, and sincere thanks to more than 37,000 MoMo Wallet users for joining hands with us. Any donations are greatly appreciated! With this help, we believe that more than 400 people in Ta Lao village will soon have access to and use clean water, and have a healthier and happier life, in line with the message: Clean water source – Healthy all year round.

The money successfully donated will be used by MSD and RIC to build a self-flowing water supply system for each household and to upgrade or build a new system of water tanks for households in the Ta Lao village, and at the same time guide people on how to use of clean water, save water, protect water sources, maintain and protect systems.

In 2021, MSD and its partners will continue to implement the Water Ambassador program with an effort to bring clean water, and at the same time, carry out communication activities on economic use and protection of water sources for people in mountainous and rural areas across the country.
