MSD RECRUITS SDGs AND INNOVATION PROGRAM OFFICER

Expected time to start: April 2024

Grade: 1-2 (in the grade level of MSD)

Venue: Hanoi with some travels to other provinces and countries when necessary

ASSIGNMENT REQUESTS

  1. Purpose: The SDGs and Innovation Program Officer will, with the assistance of the team, support MSD Leadership to execute MSD’s programs/project activities; 
  2. Working location: Mainly in Hanoi and possible travels to project sites, and some other provinces and countries when assigned. The travel fee and per diem will be under MSD’s cost norm system; 
  3. Reporting Line: Direct report to and be supported/coached by Program Manager and/or Program Director; Supervision: Assistants, Interns, Volunteers;

  4. Main responsibilities:

  • Operation: Taking charge in the implementation process of projects/programs under the SDG and Innovation portfolio throughout the project/program management cycle (design, develop a plan, coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation). The main assigned projects for this post are but are not limited to:
    • LNOB Vietnam project: playing as an assistant to the Leave No One Behind (LNOB) Vietnam Partnership’s secretariat to implement the Partnership’s activities, focusing on SDGs and promoting citizen-generated data initiatives; 
    • Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam project: together with Program Manager coordinating the partnership of startups and civil society organizations in creating social impacts for disadvantaged people in Vietnam;  
    • SDGs Research: coordinating the data collection, data analysis and research focused on different fields of study, focusing on SDGs, Responsible business, Philanthropy, etc. 
    • Inclusive participation in SDGs project: together with Program Manager facilitating and organizing the activities of the project, including training workshops, SDGs-related seminars / events, etc.; facilitate research process and development of documents related to SDGs and citizen-generated data; coordinate the communications activities of the project, including podcast production, online courses development, etc. to promote the inclusive engagement of all citizens in the SDGs implementation process. 
    • Vietnam Scaling Up Energy Efficiency (VSUEE) project: coordinating the execution of communications research as well as conducting a series of communications activities according to the master plan to promote awareness of VSUEE project and attract potential applicants. 
  • Supervise the communication activities in different channels of the SDGI projects; 
  • Support event organization and communication of MSD in general; 
  • Document the project and provide updates/ communication for projects in charge. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business management, sustainability, innovation, social science). 
  • Experience in project management with a focus on delivering results is an advantage; experience in NGOs and SDGs is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Good planning and note-taking skills, and research and data analysis skills are preferred. 
  • Familiarity with data management systems and reporting tools is a plus. 
  • Proven experience in driving innovation initiatives is a plus. 
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG principles, standards, and reporting frameworks is highly preferred. 
  • Proven proficiency in English.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

The recruitment process includes 3 rounds: 

  • Round 1: CV and Cover Letter Screening 
  • Round 2: Short Written Test for Selected Candidates from Round 1 
  • Round 3: In-person Interview at MSD Hanoi Office for Selected Candidates
