Giving birth to and raising children is both a happiness and a great challenge for parents. Along with the happy moments when watching their children laugh, talk, play, and witness their children grow up day by day, parents often have headaches when they see their children behave inappropriately and stubbornly, being naughty, and disobedient to parents and teachers. Because of the desire to teach and correct their children, scolding and spanking continue to be used by parents and caregivers in many Vietnamese families.
