Project on Strengthening the capacity of child rights governance for Vietnamese civil society organizations – Phase 2

– Project objective: Strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs), and create a space for dialogue with State agencies to contribute to the implementation of the recommendations outlined in the Committee of Children’s rights’ conclusion on the implementation of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.

– Project results so far:

▪︎ Contributing ideas and recommendations to develop the national program for children, documents related to child rights

▪︎ Publicizing the Young Voices in Vietnam Report (full version and summary) and conducting a series of seminars to share the results of the Young Voices in Vietnam report in 7 provinces/cities (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang, Hue, Dak Lak, Lao Cai, Hai Phong)

▪︎ Successfully organize dialogues, training and seminars with CSOs to consult and contribute to the supplementary report on the Convention on Child Rights, and at the same time to increase the number of CSOs involved in monitoring and supporting child rights implementation.

▪︎ Successfully organized training sessions for CSOs in the North and the South: advocacy, media communication on child rights, building programs based on child rights, promoting child rights in CRBP business and partnership development, …

Up to now, there are about 200 CSOs supported and improved in capacity

▪︎ Successfully organized communication campaigns: Fun online – fight COVID (in 2019 and 2021), I choose the green planet (2020), Spreading love (in 2019 and 2020), social media campaigns, and outdoor events about ending physical and mental punishments of children.

▪︎ Publishing publications related to raising awareness and ensuring children’s rights: Child rights Governance Handbook, Child-friendly Business Survey Report in Vietnam, Social media communication handbook to end physical and mental punishment of children, PHP Handbook (Prevention of Physical and Mental Punishment of Children), …
