On August 15, 2020, in Hanoi, the Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD) in collaboration with civil society organizations organized a workshop to kick off the project “For a Vietnam with no one left behind amid the COVID-19" combined with gifts giving and educational communication on COVID-19 prevention for disadvantaged households during the COVID-19 pandemic in Hanoi. Representatives of companion organizations and representatives of households receiving support from the project attended the event.

– Project objective: The project “For a Vietnam with no one left behind amid Covid-19” aims to provide food and hygiene support packages, and COVID-19 prevention education for more than 400 households in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, equivalent to about 1,000 – 1,200 beneficiaries. The total amount of the project’s funding is 78,500 USD, of which 50,000 USD comes from 3M Company and 28,500 USD comes from CCK.
– Outstanding activities of the project:
▪︎ Giving a support package including basic necessities and sanitary and epidemiological equipment to households in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
▪︎ Education on prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic
▪︎ Organize Project Kick-off Workshop “For a Vietnam with no one left behind amid Covid-19”
▪︎ Organize a seminar on philanthropy and development trends during and after COVID
– Results of the project: MSD, collaborating with 15 civil society organizations, community-based shelters and organizations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City directly visited and surveyed families in the most difficult areas in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City but have never been in contact with any support. Based on the survey results, we listed people who needed support and gave gifts, provided information to guide epidemic prevention and continued to accompany organizations in different activities to overcome the pandemic. After more than 3 months with 2 giveaways, the project “For a Vietnam with no one left behind amid Covid-19" organized 20 gift-giving sessions with more than 1200 gifts given to 530 households.
