On the afternoon of April 10, 2021, the Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD) cooperated with the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights (VACR) to organize a Community Event “You’re safe now, my child!" in Chuong My District, Ha Noi. The event aims to raise awareness among parents, social workers focusing on children, and the community about the child-friendly justice process and how to intervene when children are sexually abused.
The event was attended by representatives of local authorities, representatives of MSD, and the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights and parents. At the community communication session, parents had the opportunity to exchange and learn more information related to how to handle, collect evidence, request help and legal support when suspecting or detecting that children are victims of sexual abuse, and knowledge of the friendly judicial process when children are sexually abused. At the same time, through short plays, parents also better visualize the current methods of child sexual abuse and how to handle it.
The series of community events will continue to take place in Ba Vi district, Hanoi on April 18, 2021. The event is part of the Project “Supporting access to justice for sexually abused children in Hanoi" sponsored by the Justice Initiative Promotion Fund (JIFF) – a component of the ODA Project “Strengthening the legal system". Law and Justice in Vietnam – EU JULE” funded by the European Union.
